- Southeastern recognizes outstanding faculty and staff members at 2024-25 awards ceremony
Southeastern Oklahoma State University recognized members of its faculty and staff Monday at its 2024-25 Faculty/Staff Recognition Celebration in Montgomery Auditorium.
Both the Faculty Senate and Staff Senate presented awards in several categories. In addition, employees were recognized for years of service and retirees were honored.
The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Chief of Southeastern Police and Director of Emergency Management Durward Cook.
Award-winners for the 2024-25 academic year are:

Service Award recipients were presented with an engraved brick thanking them for their service to the University.
Michele Hockersmith was honored for 35 years of service to Southeastern. Dan Hoke, Dr. Tim Smith, Dr. Glenn Melancon, Dr. Steve McKim, and Dr. Shannon McCraw were honored for 30 years of service to Southeastern. Kendra Gross, April Lehrling, and Karen Moore were honored for 25 years of service to Southeastern. Ami Towne was honored for 20 years of service to Southeastern.
Those honored for 15 years of service to the university were Michael Gray and Dr. Jeremy Blackwood. Honored for 10 years of service to Southeastern were Conner Alford, Dr. Kathleen Booth, Kristinia Hicks, Lynette O’Dell, Dr. Michael Scheuerman, Christala Smith, and Alexander Spahn.
